Our Story

Welcome to The Femme Files!

This blog is dedicated to adventuring the highs, lows and everything in-between in the life of a twenty-something woman. If you’re looking for a chat about careers, self-love or just trying to adult, you’re in the right place.

Starting this blog for me, was partially for an assignment, but mostly for helping out girls similar in age to me. I’ve never had a huge friend group of girlies, and I doubt I ever will. But with this blog I can form an online community of girls helping girls out. The ever-long trope of pitting girls against each other set out by society is tiring and honestly degrading.

I’m so glad for the module and tutor that theoretically kicked me up the ass and pushed me to make this dream a reality. Not only is this a safe-space, it can become a great community to help nurture and meet new women.

The Editor: Courtney Steers

I’m Court! I am 22 years old, which feels crazy to think about. I currently both work and Study at the University of Lincoln, studying my MA in Media and Communications, and working as a catering and hospitality assistant.

I’m a woman just about surviving her twenties while still figuring out this decade with a LOT of questions, a few hard-earned lessons, and an endless desire to grow. Through honest reflections, real-life stories, and a sprinkle of humour, I aim to create a community and safe-space to share, learn and thrive together.

So, Join me as we unfold this wild, wonderful ride!

Our Goals

Give Great Advice

When we bottle it down, the essence is that we are trying to help any woman that may be in their 20’s, or about to enter this insane grey area of life that is the twenty-something. Unlike other blogs, we want this to genuinely be by women, for women. This is why it officially passes the Bechdel test.

Create a Community

Giving a space to share advice, horror stories and good times is the best way to start a community. We welcome any femme representing person, and of course our non-binary people, no matter if you are twenty-something, awaiting your twenties or well past them, you are welcome to join!

Make New Friends

The worst part about growing up, are the lack of opportunities you get to meet alike-minds and new friends. This is especially difficult when your friends have ended up on what feels like the opposite end of the planet or your schedules just don’t align anymore.
